Time passes too slowly for you. You ahve been waiting for your coming of age, so you can receive your first Pokemon, for many long years. You are bored, and envious of the people who are old enough to have Pokemon. You can take it no more. You are still too young even now, but you decide that you’re not going to wait around any longer. You’re going to escape…

You pack a few of your supplies into your PokeDex. In Rohwen, everyone has a PokeDex, and everyone uses it. The PokeDex can convert real items into pixels and store it, so people can carry things around with them. The PokeDex also provides many useful items, such as navigational tools and maps to the Rohwen region.

You put away everything you see that may turn out useful to you: A few spare sets of clothing, a box of matches,  your bike, a toy fishing rod… a jar of cookies and a canteen of water. After making sure that your PokeDex is as safe as possible, you leave, making sure that your mom doesn’t hear you go.

Then you realize that you hacen’t plotted out your escape route. how are you going to leave? The back door has a creaky door, and the front door has creaky steps leading to it. You have trouble deciding which way to go…

You tiptoe your way to the front door, managing to avoid the creaky steps. You sigh with relief. Finally! You triumphantly open the door and walked out.

But you forgot about the stairs.

With a crash, you fall down the stairs. You shriek in pain. your mom is there in a flash.

“Sam!” she exclaims, and takes out her PokeDex to call the hospital. She kneels beside you and comfort you as the ambulance arrive. You seem to be in one piece… but your right arm is in terrible pain.

A minute later, you’re in the ambulance. Ah, the coziness! You black out.

When you awaken, you are told that you have a broken arm.

When your mom comes to bring you a snack, she gets you to tell her what you were doing and why you were on the stairs. After hearing your tale, she laughs and tells you to not do that again.

A month later, your arm heals.

After many more months, you have grown enough to get your very own Pokemon. As you proudly walk to the Professor’s lab, your mom  laugh and tasks you whether running away  helped even the tiniest bit.You shrug and stride into the lab proudly, thinking about the wonderful adventures you and your Pokemon would have. You think you are fortunate.

But alas! poor child! You do not know that you have missed the adventure of a lifetime.

Your plan vanishes into smoke. You decide to give up, for you are now sure that you won’t be able to make it outside anyways. It’s too risky. Besides, if you fail, your mom will give you a great scolding.

You retreat back into your room and unpack all your stuff. What were you thining, anyways? You were crazy to think it would work! You decide that you’ll just wait to get your Pokemon.
